The Doctors Insurance Agency & O’Brien Insurance Services, Inc.
With over 3,600 physician clients, The Doctors Insurance Agency is the largest agent or broker of the largest medical liability insurance carrier in the nation: The Doctors Company.
Founded in 1988 as an exclusive agent of The Doctors Company, The Doctors Insurance Agency began as a provider of medical malpractice insurance and service representative of one of the premier carriers in the industry. Other liability insurance lines were later offered, and in 2002 the agency diversified its product availability to include all lines of health care-related insurance.
In addition to supplying liability insurance solutions for doctors, healthcare providers, and medical groups, we provide a strong platform by offering a variety of other insurance products and services focusing on our physicians in the successful delivery of healthcare.

Richard O’Brien: In Memoriam: Chief Executive Officer and Founder of The Doctors Insurance Agency. Dick had over 50 years of experience in the insurance industry and over 40 in medical malpractice. He had been involved with The Doctors Company since its inception in 1976 and continued to be an important liaison between the Agency and TDC regarding management issues. Dick passed in late summer of 2006 and we at the agency daily miss his gentle guidance and good humor.
Brad O’Brien: President. Brad has been working in the medical malpractice field since 1988, and leads the Agency in Operations and Marketing. His long range Marketing Plan, and years of first hand experience with insured policyholders, has proved to be instrumental in providing for the continued growth of the Agency. Licensed Property/Casualty and Life Health Agent.
Kay Isola: Executive Vice President and Managing Partner. Kay’s career has focused on both healthcare and professional liability. Her knowledge of medical malpractice and related lines of coverage are critical in helping our clients strengthen their insurance and risk management programs. She has unique insight in being on both sides of the insurance buying table, while representing a physician and a PPO as well as a top 10 brokerage on the agency side. Kay oversees much of the agency’s business and operational activities and has been a licensed Property/Casualty Agent since 1995.
Lisa O’Brien: Partner. Lisa’s expertise centers around the Agency’s Physician’s Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, and Long Term Care business. Licensed Life Health Agent.
Peter McGrath: Senior Broker. Peter’s expertise is in property casualty lines including worker’s compensation, general liability & property coverages. Peter has over 16 years of insurance experience. Licensed Property/Casualty Agent.
Ron Sandau: Senior Broker. With over 14 years at The Doctors Insurance Agency, Ron has a firm knowledge of medical malpractice coverage and focuses primarily on servicing and establishing new TDC business. Licensed Property/Casualty Agent and Life Health Agent.
Kim Dilena: Senior Broker. Kim came to us with over 10 years of direct experience as an underwriter and manager at The Doctors Company. Kim brings the Agency a solid foundation of knowledge and expertise pertaining to TDC underwriting practices and policy coverage issues. Licensed Property/Casualty Agent.
Sean O’Brien: Operations Manager. Sean provides important customer service with an emphasis on premium accounting and account reconciliation.
Michael Baus: Senior Account Executive. Mike services TDC and ancillary business with an emphasis in applications, premium issues and the Agency’s written materials. Licensed Property/Casualty Agent.
Sarah Wolfenbarger: Account Executive. Sarah specializes in Property & Casualty lines including General Liability & Property, and Workers’ Compensation Insurance. She also provides service and knowledge in medical malpractice coverage focused on servicing and maintaining TDC business. Licensed Property/Casualty Agent.
Linda Eisel: Account Executive. Linda provides service and knowledge in Medical Professional Liability Insurance with TDC. Licensed Property/Casualty Agent.
Oneyda Urbina: Onyeda manages and maintains our marketing campaigns, provides general clerical assistance, data entry services, and administrative duties for the agency.
