Typical Services at Urgent Care Centers
Urgent care centers provide many of the same basic medical services as a doctor's office, often with extended hours for delivering services and lower out-of-pocket costs. Staffed with qualified professionals, urgent care centers are ideal for non-emergency care when your doctor is not available:
Urgent care centers can start with a minimal investment opening from 6 o'clock in the evening and both weekend days. Some of our primary care doctors will develop ongoing attending physician relationships with their patients serving not only as an urgent care center but also transitioning to their primary care provider.
Taken from the Urgent Care Association website, The common injuries and illnesses treated at urgent care centers are the following:

Which Insurance Carriers Provide Urgent Care Policies
The Doctors Insurance Agency works primarily with specialty health care liability insurers (Like The Doctors’ Company, Admiral, Kinsale and Beazely) to provide affordable solutions which can accommodate mid-level providers and doctors on the same affordable malpractice insurance for urgent care policy.
The premiums are competitive and surprisingly affordable, the cost reflects the pure risk of providing these urgent care services. (pure risk refers to the internal structure of the policy, where the cost is developed by counting consultations, RVU’s or hours worked rather than pricing by just the number of doctors or mid levels on the policy.
We can build a slotted policy or a roster policy , both of which allow for easy ‘ons and offs’ of practitioners on the policy. Structuring policies this way allows for ongoing claims paying for even doctors who have had to cancel.
A flexible urgent care malpractice insurance policy allows for flexible use of doctors who may need to take prolonged time away from the center essentially the underwriters will approve a roster of doctors initially underwriting each of them and adding them to the urgent care roster. This allows them to come and go off the policy.
We have some policies that are priced as low as $4000 annual premium offering each physician $1 million per incident claim that is shared amongst the others, but that million is available per incident.
Time is critical as often the medical malpractice is the last thing you think about when you're putting together all of the logistics and details required to open a new center. We have so much experience in structuring insurance for the individual providers, doctors, the center owners, directors, we can help take this headache off of your to do list and make certain that you have a policy that is comprehensive and includes everyone providing services at the clinic making financial and business decisions and even ensure all of the property investment that you have made.
From Business World Research, we have read that The Urgent Care Centers industry represents one of the fastest growing segments of the American healthcare system. With rising wait times for both primary and emergency care providers, urgent care centers have become an increasingly viable alternative for patients. During the next five years, the industry is expected to continue expanding. One of the main factors driving growth for the industry is increasing yet unmet demand for primary care providers that ultimately pushes more patients to this industry's operators. Additionally, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will expand insurance coverage to millions of people by 2020.
